Before re-locating to Boston, Anna was a faculty member at the University of North Texas College of Music. She has many years of experience teaching students from teenage years up to college and professional levels.
She now teaches private lessons from her home in Jamaica Plain, as well as in-home lessons in the Boston area.
Anna keeps a small studio roster to be able to give full attention to each student's progress. Lesson times are worked out directly between her and the student to accomodate both parties' needs.

Building basic repertoire - for the joy of playing and for the technical tools
Comping patterns, chord structures
Self-accompanying (if the student so desires)
Tools for writing a strong melody, chord progression, or gesture

TO SCHEDULE A LESSON:
Please send an email to anna(at)annajalkeus.com briefly describing your experience in the lesson area, and she will get back to you to work out the details. No commitment necessary to schedule an initial lesson.
In studio: $70/60min
In student's home: $75-85/60min (depending on location)
Cancellations must be done 24 hours in advance, except for extreme circumstances. Payment is due at the time of the lesson.
Anna's home studio is conveniently located in Jamaica Plain, 2 min walk from the Orange Line T and with free street parking around the neighborhood.
It is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Beginners as well as advanced students are accepted for harp and composition lessons.
Ages 8 and above welcome.
For voice lessons, complete beginners are not accepted. Students who will benefit the most from Anna's teaching are those who already have some experience singing, but who want to be more technically efficient and/or gain more jazz knowledge.
Ages 13 and above welcome.
Please show up to your lesson right at the scheduled time or just a couple of minutes before. There is no waiting area inside and Anna usually has other things to do before your lesson.
