THE WOODS for 4 pedal harps is a dreamy composition with a beautiful melody and glassy textures that will take your imagination to a land where fictional forest creatures live.
Published by Lyon&Healy Music and available here.
Level: Advanced
BIXI for 5-8 pedal harps is a high energy, fun piece with hand claps, a groovy bass riff, and melodies using lots and lots of pentatonic scale. It was written for the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong where it had its premiere. The name Bixi comes from the Chinese legend of the Sons of the Dragon. Level: Advanced
ROOTLESS/MIXOLYDIG MELODI for 3 pedal harps is a folksy, dancing medley of Anna's composition Rootless and her mother Margareta Bengtson's composition Mixolydig Melodi ("mixolydian melody, with a twist"). Easy to put together and soothing for the ears!
Level: Intermediate

JUPITER (2017) for solo harp/voice, jazz group and orchestra is an example of Jalkéus' orchestration skills and sound.

She occasionally takes commissions for original pieces/arrangements when the project seems interesting to her.

VOCAL JAZZ

These original pieces by were performed by the UNT Jazz Singers, directed by Anna Jalkéus (Fall 2018).
If you would like to perform any of these arrangements with your vocal jazz group, please reach out via email. If you want to commission any other arrangements this could also be a possibility.

Estrogenia is SSATB level 5. The harp part is optional.
Skogsråets Dans is SSATTB level 4.5. This is a harp feature where the harp is an essential part of the composition.
Both of these songs can be heard in their original versions on the Anna Jalkéus Group album Estrogenia.

CHOIR

ALLT VI ÄR (2012) for SATB choir is a contemplative, heart-wrenching piece with intricate harmonies and a lyric that speaks of regret and longing. The piece can be performed either by an SATB choir (with a few SSATTB splits) or in its original, four part version.

The piece was premiered in the US in 2019 at the University of Missouri - Columbia.

A practice track with the lyric only was recorded for this purpose to be accessed by other non-native Swedish speaking choirs who want to perform it.

Singing on the recording: Anna Jalkéus (sop), Astrid Wilson Roldão (alto), Viktor Rydén (ten) and Erik Rosenius (bass).
Additional pieces for choir available upon request:
